Stencil a simple phrase on a neutral pillow cover. To extend its use, add a different design on the opposite side.

Is it possible to have too many pillows? Every time a new season rolls around, it’s hard to resist all the cute new styles and patterns. And switching up your accent pillows, whether on a sofa, bed, chair or in a basket, makes for a quick and easy room refresh. However, overindulging in a passion for pillows can lead to storage issues. Here are five ways to revive the pillows that are already in your collection:

1.   Wrap it up. A piece of fabric, a large scarf, a cozy throw or even an old sweater can easily be wrapped around a pillow and tied or pinned in place.
2.   Try some trims. Add a few rows of coordinating fringe or pom-pom trim across the front of a plain pillow to give it texture.
3.   Roll out the ribbon. Tie a big bow around your pillow to provide a new look that matches your color scheme.
4.   Cinch it. Secure a leather belt around a pillow’s midsection for a fashion-forward touch.
5.   Give it the slip. Tuck your old pillow inside a new cover. Pillow covers come in many sizes and patterns and can have zipper, tie or button closures. Plus, they are simple to store—just clip them onto skirt hangers and stow in a closet.
